Après avoir soutenu une thèse de doctorat sur les avancées de la biogérontologie et la comparaison des approches du transhumanisme et de l'Église catholique en regard de l'extension radicale de la vie humaine à l'Université McGill, j'ai obtenu un poste de professeur au Centre d'éthique, à l'École de médecine et au département des sciences religieuses de l'Université Emory à Atlanta, Georgie. Au cours de mes cinq années à Emory, j'ai été co-directeur du programme d'études catholiques au Collège des arts et des sciences ainsi que directeur du programme de bioéthique à la Faculté des études supérieures. Je suis ravi d'être de retour au Québec et je suis très heureux de me joindre à la Faculté de théologie et de sciences religieuses de l'Université Laval comme professeur agrégé en éthique théologique (bioéthique) et titulaire de la Chaire de leadership en enseignement (CLE) en éthique de la vie. Mon enseignement et ma recherche se concentrent en grande partie sur la manière dont les religions (avec une attention particulière à la tradition morale catholique) traitent les enjeux éthiques du milieu médical, biotechnologique et environnemental. Je suis intéressé à l'impact des technologies émergentes transformatrices (principalement concernant la médecine régénérative et anti-âge) sur les perspectives philosophiques et théologiques de la nature humaine et de la relation entre Dieu, l'être humain et la nature.
